Of all the things that one needs to do when applying for a non-immigrant visa, filling out the application form is probably the easiest.
It also happens to be one of the most important aspects of your request for a visa.
One of the first items on your agenda when applying for a non-immigrant visa is to fill out a questionnaire with some of your personal and travel-related information.
It is here that you provide basic information such as your name, occupation and home address.
You will also be asked, among other things, about the purpose of your trip, the address where you intend to stay and who will be travelling with you.

We understand that responding in detail to each of these questions may take a little time.
However, we need this information to process your visa request. Failing to provide all the information may well end up delaying your application much longer than the time it would have taken it to fill it out completely.
Particularly important is providing accurate and complete information about your residence and business address and phone numbers in India, as well as where you will be staying in the United States.
Answers such as "any hotel" or simply giving the name of a hotel or the city you will be visiting are not adequate.
Also, please be sure to provide complete and accurate information about any prior visa applications and whether you have relatives living in the United States.

What is considered an imcomplete answer? Naturally, never leave a question unanswered. Acronyms such as "N/A" and signs such as "--" are also to be avoided.
If you wish to reply in the negative, use "none" or "nil" instead. Be as specific as possible. Avoid vague terms such as the son who wrote "dependent" when answering who would pay for the family trip to California (he should have simply replied: "My Parents").
You will see that this little investment of time at the beginning of the application process will pay off in the end.
It will avoid you needless delay. it will help us to help you by clarifying for us the particular nature of your intended ravel.
The basic form is called the "DS-156". As of last January, all male non-immigrant visa applicats from the age of 16 through age 45 are also required to fill out form "DS-157." Students and exchange visitors are also required to fill out form "DS-158."
